Bury is a market town situated on the River Irwell on the edge of the western Pennines in the North West of England and the northern part of the Greater Manchester Urban Area.

It has a population of 9.6 million within a 60-minute drive time.

Within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire, Bury emerged in the Industrial Revolution as a mill town manufacturing textiles. It’s commonly known for its open-air Bury Market and black pudding, its traditional local dish.

Bury is 5 miles (8km) east of Bolton, 6 miles (9.7km) south-west of Rochdale and 8 miles (12.9km) north-west of Manchester.

Transport links

Warth Industrial Estate has excellent transport connections, situated within 2.5 miles of the M66 Motorway (J2). The site is also located close by to several industrial parks, including Pilsworth Industrial Estate, Dumers Lane Industrial Park and Heywood Distribution Park.

While Bury does not have a conventional heavy rail link to the national network, it has excellent transport links via the Metrolink with regular services to and from Manchester City Centre and Bee Network buses, connecting with destinations within Greater Manchester, including Rossendale, Blackburn and Burnley.
